I will be focusing on the instrumental areas of songs, to see how they blend in with the rest of the music video. Thinking of solo female artists was key as this reflects our artist the best.
Lily Allen- The Fear
In this particular music video when there is a part of the song that is instrumental it shows a progression into the next scene of the video, it moves smoothly into the next area of the video.
This may fit with the idea of our video as ours is story based like the video for 'The Fear', and would fit with the smooth transitions we have in place.
It was proving difficult to find songs with long instrumental silences
I found a music video with lots of spaces filled with purely music, which fitted my groups problem
Hilary Duff- Stranger
To fill the spaces, the artist has chosen close-ups of herself singing to continue a smooth flow in a medium long shot. I find this technique intriguing.
